The way the boardwalk took a sharp turn ahead and disappeared into the grassy marsh presented a sense of mystery. I wanted to create that feeling with this image. I added several layers of textures - 14 layers in fact - mixed with some painterly effects to create the dark and mysterious mood.
The original photograph was shot in Mitchell Park, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
